Upon reading the book, Squanto and the Miracle of Thanksgiving, it was the first time I ever heard this version of the first Thanksgiving and it speaks about how God was the one who directed Squanto in his life. It is an amazing first Thanksgiving book and I can see how it all makes sense now of how Squanto knew how to speak English when the Pilgrims came over. So many questions can be answered about the very First Thanksgiving through this book. It gives a much deeper sense of history than any other Thanksgiving children’s book has ever done. Who knew all that Squanto went through in his life!!
In Thanksgiving: What makes it Special? children learn how God plays a role in Thanksgiving. With children asking questions to their parents and the parents providing explanations in a story form, this book is sure to be one of your favorites as well.
The Berenstain Bears Give Thanks, gives a different kind of story about Sister who does not want to eat the beautiful turkey, Squanto as she sees him alive and doesn’t feel right eating him…see what happens in this book. God is also mentioned in this book and his role in the pilgrims lives.

In Franklin’s Thanksgiving, his grandparents coming to celebrate Thanksgiving is most important to Franklin, but see what happens when they can’t make it this year.
