Lent is almost here! Even though it feels as if Christmas day just ended, it is now time to prepare for Lent. If you’re looking to make your Lent experience more meaningful as a family and to dive deeper into our faith, then check below to find some resources for that can help you do so. All of the resources we have either used or plan to use this Lent. I hope they bless your family the way it has blessed ours.
We read this book aloud as a family every day during Lent, my 14 year old son and I take turns reading it aloud. It includes an opening reflection, a Scripture reading from daily Mass, intercessions, and small giving steps towards Easter. This book is great to reuse for multiple years.
Sadly I do not have this version of the book (shown below), however I do have the Advent version and we have enjoyed it when my kids were younger:
I plan on buying these two activity books (shown below) for my 9 year old daughter:
Here is an Advent Survival Kit, which is on sale now and includes:
There is also the Lenten and Easter Calendar (which we loved putting on the stickers each day to help us keep track of the Advent and Christmas seasons) which I plan on buying to guide us through the Lent and Easter seasons as well. They come in packs of 5.
Or this Lenten Magnet Map that you can reuse year to year:
And if you’re looking for a family friendly Stations of the Cross Book look no further than this one:
